The de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra presents a Sunday afternoon of favourite works by Elgar and Tchaikovsky.

Elgar’s ever popular Cello Concerto, which first premiered in 1919, will be performed by soloist Bozidar Vukotic.  Bozidar is the founder member of the Tippett String Quartet and has a busy schedule with the quartet and as a guest principal cello with many of this country’s finest orchestras.

The concert will begin with Elgar’s Cockaigne Overture which gives a lively musical portrait of Edwardian London.

The concert also features Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony, a work that initially seen as a failure, but is now one of his most popular works.
