About the Orchestra
Formed in 1969, the de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra (dHPO) has enjoyed over 40 years of success, giving acclaimed performances of a wide musical repertoire and engaging renowned soloists.
The conductor, Robin Browning, brings together over 80 classical musicians in the Orchestra. Robin enjoys a busy conducting career both in the UK and abroad. He made his debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and has since conducted the Hallé, English Northern Philharmonia, Northern Sinfonia, and St Petersburg Festival Orchestra.

The de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra is a friendly group of musicians made up of talented amateurs, music teachers, and semi-professionals. The Orchestra welcomes interest from new players.
Interested musicians are invited to attend open rehearsals. The Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings at the University, and can often be found at the Horse and Groom in Old Hatfield later in the evening!
